Texas Baseball Announces Fall Exhibition Showdowns with In-State Rivals
Austin, TX — The Texas Longhorns baseball program has unveiled an exciting fall exhibition schedule featuring two in-state matchups that promise a first look at the upcoming 2026 squad.
On September 27 at 1:00 p.m. CT, Texas will face off against Texas Tech in a 12-inning contest at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, with gates opening at noon.
Then, on October 3 at 6:30 p.m. CT, the Longhorns will host Lamar University at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, with free admission for fans.
These fall exhibitions mark the Longhorns’ first glimpse into the 2026 season, coming off a standout 2025 campaign—highlighted by an SEC regular-season title in their conference debut under head coach Jim Schlossnagle, despite a postseason exit in the Austin Regional.
What to Watch
Texas Tech: A familiar former Big 12 rival still looking to bounce back after missing regionals for the second straight year, finishing the 2025 season at 20–32 under coach Tim Tadlock.
Lamar: Coming off a solid 40–17 record (20–10 in the Southland Conference), Lamar also failed to qualify for regional play.
For Longhorn fans, these exhibitions offer valuable early insights into the team’s returners, transfer portal additions, and exciting newcomer talent aiming to build on the momentum of the SEC title run.
