Despite mounting pressure following a dismal run of results, Arne Slot remains firmly backed by the hierarchy at Liverpool FC. The club’s decision-makers have not opted to sack him after their heavy and humiliating 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, which marked their worst domestic home cup loss in 91 years. 
In press conferences, Slot has been candid about the squad’s struggles. He admitted that Liverpool can “only blame ourselves” for conceding late and from set-pieces, after a 2-1 loss to Palace in the Premier League.  He also defended his controversial team-selection decisions: for the Carabao Cup exit he fielded a heavily rotated side, arguing the club had only 15-16 senior players available and that using the competition to give youngsters a chance “felt like the right decision”. 
Meanwhile, reliable sources reveal that the club has “100 percent convinced” Slot is the best man for the job, at least for now.  The explanation is that despite the poor start — six losses in seven games at one point — Liverpool believe the underlying problems are transitional: new signings integrating, defensive frailties emerging, and fatigue setting in. Board insiders emphasise that the manager retains their trust, but caution that patience will be thin if results do not improve quickly. 
So, while fans and pundits are calling for drastic action, the official stance remains steady: Slot stays in position, tasked with reversing the slide fast. The next few fixtures will likely define whether that trust is still warranted.
