The standout Buckeye and projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft expressed his desire to stay in-state, naming the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals as his preferred NFL destinations.
In a post-practice media availability, Sawyer told reporters, “Growing up in Ohio, I’ve always dreamed about playing in the NFL. But if I could write the script, I’d love to stay home — either with the Browns or the Bengals. That would mean everything to me.”
The 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive end has been a dominant force for the Buckeyes since arriving in Columbus as a five-star recruit out of Pickerington North High School. Known for his relentless motor, high football IQ, and versatility on the defensive line, Sawyer has developed into one of the premier pass rushers in the nation.
