PROVO, Utah — As the BYU Cougars gear up for the 2025 season, offense fans are buzzing over the potential emergence of JoJo Phillips, the 6-foot-5 sophomore wideout poised to become a game-changer in the passing attack. During the 2025 fall camp, offensive coach Fesi Sitake acknowledged Phillips’s readiness and said, “We are going to use him a lot this year. He’s earned it.”
In 2024, Phillips played all 13 games and made two starts. Though his role was still developing, he made an immediate impact — 10 receptions for 211 yards, including a standout 57-yard touchdown in the season opener and a critical fourth-down extension pass that set up the game-winning field goal versus Utah. His per-catch average of 21.1 yards led the team, showcasing his big-play ability.
