Steelheads Ink Rookie Deals with Grant Silianoff and Jake Boltmann
The Idaho Steelheads have bolstered their roster with the signing of two promising rookies, forward Grant Silianoff and defenseman Jake Boltmann, ahead of the upcoming season. Both players bring high-level collegiate experience and are expected to add fresh energy and depth to the Steelheads lineup.
Grant Silianoff, a skilled and versatile forward, recently wrapped up a solid NCAA career at the University of Notre Dame. Known for his high hockey IQ, work ethic, and strong two-way play, Silianoff contributed consistently on both ends of the ice during his time with the Fighting Irish. His ability to read plays and create offensive opportunities could make him an immediate asset for the Steelheads’ forward group.
Joining him on the blue line is Jake Boltmann, a dependable and physically imposing defenseman who played at the University of Minnesota. A former third-round pick by the Calgary Flames in the 2020 NHL Draft, Boltmann is recognized for his strong defensive positioning, physicality, and leadership qualities. His presence on the back end will bring added size and grit to the Steelheads’ defensive corps, as well as a steadying influence in key situations.
Both players are looking to make a strong impression in their first professional season, and the Steelheads offer an ideal environment for growth and development. Head Coach Everett Sheen has built a reputation for developing young talent and giving rookies meaningful opportunities to contribute.
The signings of Silianoff and Boltmann reflect the Steelheads’ ongoing commitment to building a competitive and well-rounded roster. As the team gears up for what promises to be an exciting season, fans can look forward to seeing these two rookies take their first strides in the pro ranks wearing the Steelheads jersey.
