Brigham Young University’s Cougar Nation delivered a statement on September 6, 2025—packing LaVell Edwards Stadium to its brim for the Cougars’ commanding 27–3 win over Stanford, with an official attendance of 64,692 in a stadium listed at a capacity of 62,073 . In fact, across the first two home games, BYU has averaged a staggering 64,593 fans per game, eclipsing 104 % capacity .

Head Coach Kalani Sitake didn’t hold back in expressing gratitude. Reflecting on the season-opening 69–0 rout over Portland State—where 64,494 fans cheered on the Cougars—Sitake emphasized, “The biggest highlight for me, as a coach, … was the fans.” He praised the early-season electric environment, noting how even before classes had begun, students and fans created an atmosphere that elevated the entire program .

The energy carried seamlessly into the Stanford matchup. With the home crowd roaring, freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier delivered 175 passing yards and a rushing touchdown, while multi-threat running back LJ Martin contributed with 110 yards on the ground .
